Finding a good company to work for can be pretty tricky, but thankfully there are ways to take some of the hassle away.

In December, anonymous company review site Glassdoor produced a list of its best companies in the UK to work for, and now financial data firm Bloomberg has compiled its own ranking of Britain's best employers.

Bloomberg asked employees at more than 800 different companies in the UK a series of questions in an online survey.

It didn't reveal exactly what all the questions were but says the most important factor was one simple question: How likely would you be to recommend your employer to others?

Once all the responses were in, Bloomberg tallied them and gave each company a score out of ten.

Companies involved with weapons, gambling, tobacco, pornography, and those in the banking and financial services sector weren't counted in the survey. Companies that Bloomberg considers direct competitors were also excluded from the ranking.

Check out the best performing companies below, complete with comments from staff left on Glassdoor.com.
